Polar Plunge Information

Friday 2/15/19

  1. Swimmers dismissed at 1:45, bus departs at 2 pm.
  2. When arriving at Northern High School swimmers will be directed to the main gym where they will hang out between events (much like the Arctic Classic).
  3. 4:00-5:15- three 25 minute warm up periods will take place (will let you know when our warm up time is closer to the date).
  4. 5:15-5:25- time for additional sprints from the blocks
  5. 5:30 pm- meet begins. Order of events: 200 medley relay, 200 free, 200 IM, 50 free, awards and cool down.
Saturday 2/16/19


  1. Bus will depart the high school at 6:30 am.
  2. 8:00-9:40 am- four 25 minute warm up periods.
  3. 9:40-9:55- Time for additional sprints from the block
  4. 10:00 am- Meet begins. Order of events: 100 fly, 200 free relay, 100 free, awards & warmup/cooldown, 500 free, 100 back, awards &warm up/ cool down, 100 breast, 400 free relay, final awards & cool down. 
IMPORTANT RULES: If you are counting for the 500 you will need to wear bottoms over your suit.

Swimmers must wear something on the top of their body and on their feet when they are not in the pool area. They have someone looking for this so please be sure to follow this rule.
Swimmers may go home with a PARENT ONLY once their parent has filled out a transportation form (retrieved from Francy or Trystan).


There will be a concession stand at the Polar Plunge.

Awards: medals will be awarded to the top six finishers in each event (not heat).

Admissions: There is a cost to get into the meet $5 for adults and $3 for students- you get a meet program included. This meet will also be on meet mobile.

Winter Weather Plan
If, due to winter weather, the Friday portion of the meet has to be cancelled, they will conduct all events on Saturday. If both days must be cancelled there is no back up date.
