2019 swim team banquet

The 2019 MCHS swim team banquet will take place on Friday, April 26th from 6 pm- 8 pm. It will be a potluck style dinner. Please see the invite below for important info.

Announcements 2/11-2/16

Announcements for 2/11-2/16

• There is a home meet on Monday 2/11 at 6 pm. This will be our senior night. Juniors will need to be on deck by 4 pm to help with decorating. Everyone else will need to be there by 4:30. Warm ups begin at 5 pm. We will do the senior recognition during the break.
• There is also a home meet on Tuesday at 6 pm. Swimmers need to be on deck by 4:30. Warm ups begin at 5.
• The Polar Plunge will take place on Friday and Saturday 2/15 & 2/16. The bus will be leaving at 2:00 on Friday (students have no school this day), and it will be leaving at 6:30 am on Saturday. This invitational will be similar to the Arctic Classic. You will be in a gym so bring blankets etc. SWIMMERS MUST BE COVERED ON THE TOP AND HAVE SHOES ON WHEN THEY ARE NOT IN THE POOL AREA. They have people monitoring this so please follow this rule. For more details on admission and schedule of events please see the Polar Plunge page of this website. 
• Francy and Trystan will be in charge at the Polar Plunge, they will have transportation forms for any swimmer who will be traveling home with a parent. They must receive this form before they can release you to a parent. 

Practices after the Polar Plunge

For those swimmers who do not qualify for districts or who are not needed for a relay at districts, practices become optional beginning February 18th.

IF YOU HAVE QUALIFIED FOR DISTRICTS OR ARE NEEDED AS BACK UP FOR A RELAY PRACTICES REMAIN MANDATORY LEADING UP TO DISTRICTS!!!!!

Announcements 2/2-2/9

• There is a swim meet on Saturday 2/2 against Altoona. The bus will depart the high school at 9:30 am. The meet begins at noon.
• Monday 2/4 will be the last dryland practice from 6:15-7:15 am. Optional.
• Wednesday 2/6- away meet against Hollidaysburg. Swimmers will need to dress up. Swimmers dismissed 1:30, bus depart 1:45. Meet begins at 4:30.
• Friday 2/8- first day of mid penn champs. Swimmers will be dismissed at 1 and van leaves at 1:15. Meet begins at 5 pm. THERE WILL STILL BE MANDATORY PRACTICE FOR THOSE NOT ATTENDING MID PENN CHAMPS FROM 3:45-5:15.
• Saturday 2/9- second day of mid penn champs. Van will leave at 7:15 am. Meet begins at 11 am.

Polar Plunge t shirts

They have created t-shirts for the Polar Plunge this year (taking place 2/15 & 2/16). They are only accepting pre-orders of t shirts until February 2nd. They will not be selling any shirts at the event. If you are interested in purchasing a Polar Plunge t shirt use the following link:

Announcements 1/21-1/25

Below are important announcements for the week of 1/21-1/25:

• On Monday 1/21 we have an away swim meet in Altoona. Swimmers will be dismissed at 2:15 and the bus will leave at 2:30. Swimmers will need to dress up for this. Swimmers may ride home from the meet with a parent as long as a transportation form has been filled out and handed into one of the coaches. If you are riding the bus back to Lewistown, remember to bring money as we will be stopping for food on the way home.
• On Tuesday 1/22 the R & K sandwich and sub orders will be delivered to the YMCA at 2 pm. Please make arrangements to come pick up your order at this time. 
• On Thursday 1/24 we have a home swim meet against Chambersburg. Swimmers need to be on deck by 4:30.
• There will be optional dryland on Wednesday and Friday of next week. No dryland on Monday morning due to the swim meet that afternoon.
